Embora os seres humanos possam detetar o amon\u00edaco pelo olfato, normalmente em intervalos de 5ppm &#8211; 50ppm, este n\u00e3o \u00e9 um m\u00e9todo fi\u00e1vel porque a exposi\u00e7\u00e3o repetida pode reduzir a sensibilidade. A utiliza\u00e7\u00e3o de detectores de g\u00e1s electr\u00f3nicos \u00e9, por isso, recomendada e obrigat\u00f3ria na maioria das aplica\u00e7\u00f5es.  <\/p>\n<p><strong>Como aplicar a dete\u00e7\u00e3o de <sub>NH3<\/sub>?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>O <sub>NH3<\/sub> \u00e9 mais leve do que o ar, o que significa que se elevar\u00e1 at\u00e9 ao ponto mais alto da divis\u00e3o onde se encontra a fuga. Os detectores de g\u00e1s devem ser instalados a um n\u00edvel elevado, cerca de 20 cm abaixo do teto. Deve ter-se em conta a acessibilidade da instala\u00e7\u00e3o para efeitos de assist\u00eancia e manuten\u00e7\u00e3o.  <\/p>\n<p>A pr\u00e1tica comum \u00e9 instalar detectores de fugas de refrigerante acima da fonte prov\u00e1vel de uma fuga, por exemplo, v\u00e1lvulas, flanges, juntas e redutores de press\u00e3o. A coloca\u00e7\u00e3o de detectores de g\u00e1s refrigerante neste fluxo de ar \u00e9 uma boa pr\u00e1tica para uma dete\u00e7\u00e3o eficaz.  <\/p>\n<p><em><u>OBSERVA\u00c7\u00c3O:<\/u><\/em> N\u00e3o existe uma regra ou norma geral para estabelecer o n\u00famero adequado de sensores e a sua localiza\u00e7\u00e3o para cada aplica\u00e7\u00e3o. Por conseguinte, as orienta\u00e7\u00f5es fornecidas destinam-se a apoiar os instaladores e n\u00e3o a constituir regras por si s\u00f3. Todos os regulamentos locais, estaduais e nacionais devem ser respeitados.  <\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Sele\u00e7\u00e3o do Detetor de G\u00e1s <sub>NH3<\/sub> <\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>O <sub>NH3<\/sub> \u00e9 normalmente detectado atrav\u00e9s de sensores electroqu\u00edmicos. Esta tecnologia tem uma s\u00e9rie de vantagens em aplica\u00e7\u00f5es de refrigera\u00e7\u00e3o. Estas incluem alta seletividade, interfer\u00eancia cruzada m\u00ednima e alta estabilidade. Os sensores tamb\u00e9m s\u00e3o altamente precisos e podem ser ajustados para a concentra\u00e7\u00e3o de medi\u00e7\u00e3o desejada.   <\/p>\n<p>Os sensores electroqu\u00edmicos t\u00eam uma vida \u00fatil limitada, exigindo normalmente uma substitui\u00e7\u00e3o a cada 2 anos. Existem, no entanto, alguns detectores de g\u00e1s refrigerante atualmente no mercado com sensores de <sub>NH3<\/sub> comprovados no terreno, com uma vida \u00fatil superior a cinco anos. <\/p>\n<p>A sele\u00e7\u00e3o de um detetor de g\u00e1s refrigerante com procedimentos de manuten\u00e7\u00e3o simples \u00e9 particularmente importante devido ao requisito peri\u00f3dico de substitui\u00e7\u00e3o do sensor e ao requisito mais frequente (pelo menos a cada 12 meses) de testar e calibrar o instrumento.<\/p>\n<p>As aplica\u00e7\u00f5es para a<sub>dete\u00e7\u00e3o de <\/sub>NH3 requerem frequentemente a dete\u00e7\u00e3o em linhas de ventila\u00e7\u00e3o de alta press\u00e3o a partir de v\u00e1lvulas de descompress\u00e3o.
